OUR HISTORY
1976

Goslings London Badminton Club traces its roots back to 1976, beginning as an informal gathering of gay swimmers at the Oasis Pool in High Holborn.
By 1982, the group secured private hire of the pool on Thursdays under the Gay Outdoor Club (GOC). In 1985, the swimming club became independent, adopting the name "Goslings" (an acronym for Gay Outdoor Swimming London-ings).

1986

The closure of the Oasis pools led the group to utilize the sports hall, where they began playing badminton.
This quickly gained popularity, evolving into a primary focus of the club. Over time, Goslings expanded its badminton sessions, becoming a prominent fixture in London's LGBTQ+ sports scene.
In April 2012, the swimming division rejoined GOC, and Goslings transitioned to exclusively offering badminton activities.
PRESENT DAY

Today, Goslings is a vibrant and inclusive space for LGBT+ players and allies of all abilities. With weekly sessions across London and exciting tournaments we combine competitive badminton with a strong sense of community. Beyond the court, regular social events make Goslings a place to connect, and have fun.
