OUR LEVELS
We use the following classification of player ability levels, consistent with other LGBT+ badminton clubs and tournaments:
C- (Beginner)​
Building foundations and learning the core of the game.
​
✅ Able to deliver a low serve into the service area most of the time
✅ Learning to play different overhead shots: clear, drop, and smash
✅ Beginning to use correct forehand and backhand grips
✅ Familiar with court layout and scoring rules
✅ Getting the shuttle over the net with growing consistency
✅ Starting to move around the court when needed
✅Engaging in short rallies with multiple shots
✅ Developing reaction timing to opponent’s shots
✅ Working toward reducing simple mistakes during play
C+ (Intermediate)​
Building Confidence in strokes and plays with intention.

✅ Has a full range of basic strokes with differentiation and reliability
✅ Uses forehand and backhand appropriately in different situations
✅ Good control of the shuttle and shot direction
✅ Serves consistently into the correct area with some variation (e.g., wide and flick serves)
✅ Returns serves consistently with some variation in shot choice
✅ Maintains longer rallies of with greater focus
✅ Understands effective positioning on the court
✅ Moves around the court with developing footwork patterns
✅ Experimenting with tactical ideas (e.g., shot variation, net play)
✅ Staying engaged and focused throughout games
B- (High Intermediate)​

Playing with consistency and can control rallies.

✅ Can reliably perform all core strokes
✅ Demonstrates purposeful shot placement and good consistency (e.g., deep clears, tight drops)
✅ Returns serves with good consistency and tactical variation
✅ Handles longer rallies with confidence and reduced errors
✅ Strong understanding of court positioning and rotation
✅ Moves with efficiency to all court areas, recovering well
✅ Starting to use deception when appropriate (e.g., disguised drops or delayed shots)
✅ Applies tactical strategies like changing pace or targeting corners
✅ Anticipates opponent’s shots occasionally and reacts well
✅ Shows composure and focus during extended play
B+ (Advanced)

Highly skilled, tactically aware, and a strong competitor.​

✅ Excellent consistency of all core shots with control and placement (e.g. tight net play, sharp drops, and steep smashes)
✅ Executing advanced shots and variations with some success (e.g., backhand clears, sliced drops etc.)
✅ Chooses effective shots based on rally flow and positioning
✅ Maintains high accuracy and rhythm even in long, intense rallies
✅ Covers the court fluidly and recovers quickly for the next shot
✅ Advanced tactics and excellent coordination in doubles
✅ Adapts strategy in real time based on opponent behaviour
✅ Predicts and counters opponent movements with accuracy
✅ Stays confident and mentally strong in competitive matches
A (County/Elite Amateur)

Elite-level amateur player with complete command of the game.
✅ Executes all shots with consistent precision, power, and variation
✅ Able to use effective deception and creativity in stroke selection
✅ Builds and finishes rallies with clear tactical intent
✅ Maintains excellent control over shuttle placement under pressure
✅ Moves explosively and recovers seamlessly
✅ Applies advanced match strategy and adapts on the fly
✅ Reads the opponent’s game instinctively and adjusts accordingly
✅ Shows composure and focus during high-stakes play
✅ Competes at top amateur levels with confidence and consistency

STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR
Our club runs based on our Constitution and is backed by our Standards of Behaviour.

REFUND POLICY
Refunds are available only if you cancel your attendance in Spond at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.
Failure to cancel your attendance in Spond will result in no refund.
Refund Process:
1. Cancel Your Attendance:
Cancel your ticket and your attendance on the Spond platform at least 24 hours before the session.
2. Submit the Refund Request:
Complete the short refund form.
